We also have staff who specialise in Child Protection, Special Educational Needs, Behaviour Management and Health and Safety. Additional support is also available from the Bracknell Forest Early Years Team where necessary.

Our setting promotes an inclusive practice where children can excel. We do this by providing a wide range of resources which are accessible to all ages and all developmental stages. We provide a stimulating learning environment, a curriculum that is both adult and child led and meets the needs of all the children. Weekly planning is guided by the children’s interests and resources are provided to scaffold their learning. Social interaction is promoted and modelled to help children’s personal, social and emotional development.

Whitegrove use the Statutory framework for children’s learning, development and care known as the Early Years Foundation Stage.

In our setting we embrace different cultures. Parents are encouraged to share any cultural aspect with the setting and the children. We also promote British values by teaching children right from wrong, decision making, respecting each other’s views and values, feelings, sharing, rules and boundaries.

We have built up a relationship with the local library which we attend once a week to read stories to the children and take books out to use at the setting. This gives us a greater opportunity for the children to have a wider access to the written word and print. We are also fortunate to be near Tesco grocery store so we can take children with us to choose snack. We also have access to a local park which we use as day trips out and picnics.

Whitegrove have a child friendly and secure outside area to which new equipment is being added regularly. This makes the outside area more fun and provides a varied learning experience.

Ofsted rated Whitegrove as a “Good” setting See report here in February  2019.

The setting supports speech and language development through the Every Child a Talker (ECaT) government initiative. Each child’s language is monitored on a termly basis which enables early detection of developmental delay. We support children who speak English as an additional language. Extra support may be available from the Bracknell Forest Early Years Team.

We are able to accommodate a variety of disabilities due to being all on one level with disabled toilet access. If necessary we will carry out an assessment to ensure we have suitable equipment and resources to provide the child with a fulfilling and enriched environment.

As Whitegrove Pre School is in the Tesco Warfield complex, there is ample free parking.
