Whitegrove Pre-School

Whitegrove Pre-School is a privately owned limited company operating from the Whitegrove Community Centre, located on the outskirts of Warfield. We welcome children from both the local community and surrounding areas.

Our setting operates during term time only and is registered to provide funded early education for eligible children aged two, three, and four years.

All members of our dedicated team hold, or are working towards, a minimum Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education. In addition, our staff are fully trained in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, and Food Hygiene, ensuring a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for every child

Our team includes specialists in key areas such as Child Protection, Special Educational Needs (SEN), Behaviour Management, Early Language Development, Equal Opportunities, and Health and Safety. This allows us to offer tailored support to meet the diverse needs of the children in our care.

Where needed, we also work closely with the Bracknell Forest Early Years Team to access additional support and resources, helping us to provide the best possible outcomes for every child.

The Curriculum

Whitegrove use the Statutory framework for children’s learning, development and care known as the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We offer a stimulating learning environment and a balanced curriculum that is both adult-led and child-initiated, ensuring it meets the individual needs and interests of every child. Weekly planning is shaped by the children’s current interests, and resources are thoughtfully provided to scaffold and extend their learning.

We place a strong focus on developing children’s personal, social, and emotional skills. Social interaction is actively encouraged and positively modelled by staff, helping children to build friendships, express their feelings, and gain confidence in a supportive setting.

Our Ethos and Enrichment Opportunities

At Whitegrove Pre-School, we embrace and celebrate cultural diversity. We actively encourage parents to share aspects of their culture with both staff and children, enriching our learning environment and helping foster understanding and respect from an early age.

We are proud to promote an inclusive practice where every child is given the opportunity to thrive. Our environment is carefully designed to support children of all ages and developmental stages, with a wide range of accessible resources that encourage exploration, creativity, and independence.

We are committed to promoting British values throughout our daily routines and activities. Children are supported in learning about right and wrong, making choices, respecting others’ views and feelings, understanding rules and boundaries, and developing positive social relationships. We place a strong emphasis on mutual respect, kindness, and inclusion.

To extend learning beyond the classroom, we have developed a close relationship with our local library, which we visit weekly. These visits offer valuable opportunities for children to enjoy stories, explore books, and develop a love for reading and language. Being located near Tesco also allows us to take small groups of children on supervised visits to help choose snacks, encouraging independence and awareness of healthy choices.

We are also lucky to have easy access to a local park, which we use for day trips and picnics, giving children the chance to explore nature and engage in physical activity in a wider environment.

Our setting includes a child-friendly, secure outdoor area that is regularly enhanced with new equipment. This space supports a wide range of outdoor learning experiences, promoting physical development, creativity, and exploration through fun and engaging activities.

Supporting Communication and Language Development

We are committed to supporting early speech and language development through the Every Child a Talker (ECaT) government initiative. Each child’s language progress is monitored termly, allowing us to quickly identify and support any developmental delays. We also provide tailored support for children who speak English as an additional language, ensuring they feel included, confident, and understood.

Where appropriate, we work in partnership with the Bracknell Forest Early Years Team to offer additional specialist support for children with specific needs.

Inclusive and Accessible

Our setting is fully accessible, with all areas on one level and a disabled toilet available. If a child has additional physical or developmental needs, we carry out an individual assessment to ensure we can provide the necessary equipment and resources to support their development in a safe and enriching environment.

Convenient Location and Facilities

Located within the Tesco Warfield complex, Whitegrove Pre-School benefits from ample free parking, making drop-off and pick-up times easier for busy families.
